FAQs ABOUT HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY

Where should my testosterone levels be?

A male’s optimal testosterone range is 800-1200. Our providers have developed a program here to constantly keep your testosterone levels optimal without fluctuations.

Testosterone treatment is working for me, but I am not comfortable with being on it for the rest of my life. Will I need it forever?

You can stop testosterone therapy at any time; however, you are likely to see your original symptoms return. Most men who enjoy the benefits of treatment will remain on the program, but this is not a medical requirement but more a personal choice.

Will taking testosterone therapy cause my body to start producing more testosterone on its own?

Typically, this will not happen. It is possible for men with low testosterone to develop normal levels after stopping treatment, however, this is usually due to other factors in the body that caused hormonal issues that are no longer present.

Do local vitamin store testosterone boosters work?
Testosterone booster supplements sold in vitamin stores lack FDA approval and there are no known proofs of them being able to help boost your testosterone levels. All reports about testosterone boosters being able to help increase motivation seems unfounded and lacking in authenticity. On the other hand, testosterone replacement therapy prescribed by a doctor is known for its effectiveness at boosting and increasing testosterone levels of people suffering from low T. Testosterone replacement therapy is often known to help them become more agile, more enthusiastic, increases, their sense of well-being and sex drive, while eliminating problems like erectile dysfunction, depression, fatigue and poor concentration.
Will my insurance cover my treatments?

We do opt for a cash payment system for your therapy or HSA/FSA payment. This is because insurance companies typically require that all testosterone shots be given in the office to be covered. Since our program allows you to self-administer at home for your convenience, cash payment will be required to cover the cost of your monthly medications.

My current primary provider has me on testosterone therapy; can I utilize your program as well?

Unfortunately, the answer is no. In our experience, practitioners who are not hormone specialists can do more harm than good when administering testosterone. Many do not monitor your levels on a regular basis, HCG may not be given along with your therapy and you might not be receiving adequate doses to restore optimal testosterone levels. Therefore, we insist on being your only source of testosterone replacement therapy.

How often do I have to visit the office?

On your first visit a physical exam, and blood work will be done. You will be shown how to self-administer your testosterone. After this first visit you will need to return in 2-3 months to ensure the treatment is being effective. After this follow-up, you will only need to visit the office once every six months unless you have concerns about your therapy or dose adjusts are made. Your medications will be shipped to your home for replacements. Between visits if you have any concerns just give us a call.

What labs test do you run? And can I use the blood work from my primary doctor instead of yours?

In addition to standard health assessment tests, a series of hormone tests and panels are done to determine the amount of testosterone, free testosterone and estrogen. Your blood work is included in the initial fee and most primary care providers do not test hormones routinely.

How quickly will I see results?

Benefits occur in a step wise fashion over 3-12 months. Although every patient responds differently usually at 2-4 weeks you have psychological improvements, 4-16 weeks physical and sexual improvements and at 6-12 months results are more consistent of well-being.

Do you use Human Growth Hormone (HGH)?

No. We do not use HGH as part of our therapy. HGH treatment is approved in the United States only for treatment of growth hormone deficiency, AIDS patients and dwarfs. Instead, we use growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) stimulating peptides such as Sermorelin, which has been proven to be much safer alternative. This naturally stimulates your body’s own production of HGH.
